Search filter for articles: miscellaneous

This group represents two other types of filtering: duplicate and event filtering.

Duplicate filtering for articles

If you apply the filter for duplicate filtering, you are presented with two options. By selecting the first one “Show only articles that are not duplicates”, you will only obtain news articles with content that has not yet been reported by any previous news sources (like Associated Press). By selecting the second option “Show only articles that are duplicates”, you will only get the articles with content that is (almost) identical to the content of some previously published news articles.

If you click on the “this article” link located in the bottom right corner of the news article’s summary, you will find out which article is the selected article a duplicate of.

Event filtering for articles

By applying filter “Show only articles assigned to an event”, you will limit your search results to the news articles referencing a major global event which was reported by many news outlets.

If you select “Show only articles not assigned to an event”, you will limit your search results to the news articles that are not assigned to any event (formed in Event Registry). These articles are more likely to not reference any major global events on which many news outlets already reported.
